Things That May Fade Your Tan
Some soaps and shower gels (normally oily based ones with essential oils etc).
Anti-ageing products that 'renew' 'refresh' or in otherwise exfoliate the skin.
Facial toners containing alcohol.
Anti-acne products that exfoliate the skin.
Makeup remover, cleansing products or oils used to clean away makeup.
Using a loofa or scrub mit will fade your tan. Use a soft wash cloth and do not rub the skin.
Facial masks and exfoliating scrubs.
Wax hair removal and depilatory hair removal products. Shaving also exfoliates the skin. Always use a clean sharp razor with a lubricating product.
Pat dry with your towel after a bath, dont rub!
Body hair bleaching products.
Chlorine in swimming pools can bleach your tan.
A womend tan may also develop differently during various hormonal changes (ovulation, menstruation and pregnancy).
Oily skin will develop a lighter tan than people with dryer skin.
Avoid greasy moisturisers (body butters, baby oils, essential oils). The oil deteriorates the tan faster.
