Often as part of the preparation for a wedding, or other formal dress event, many women decide a tan would be the perfect finishing touch!
As a future bride, tanning parties are a great idea for getting your bridesmaids, mother and future mother-in-law a wonderful tan for your wedding.
Now is a good time to get a trial tan. It will give you plenty of time to decide on the depth of colour you require. I always recommend that you have a trial run done at least 4-6 weeks before your special occassion.
Arrange to have any waxing done now and then book a further appointment three days prior to your wedding. Waxing should be done 24 hours before tanning as hair removal will remove your fake tan.
Final waxing appointment.
Book your tan for two days before the wedding. To prevent any rub off on your dress, exfoliate your skin about one to two days before your wedding. For proper exfoliation avoid loofas or standard shower scrubs as these can be too harsh. Instead of this use St Tropez Body Polisher as this will create the perfect base prior to your tan (as this contains no oils etc). Scrub thoroughly, but gently all over with overlapping circular motions. Pay extra attention to thicker skin areas, such as hands, feet, knees and elbows.
Moisurise daily with St Tropez Body Moisturiser. This is a hydrating body lotion which contains L-Tyrosene, an ingredient that activates the melanin in the skin ensuring your tan lasts the longest possible time.
Before dressing, moisturise your skin well with your St Tropez Body Moisturiser. Dust all over with a translucent or light sparkly body powder. This will minimise possible rub off onto your dress.
Shimmer products come in a range of effects, from a subtle opalescence shimmer glow, a fine dusting of sparkles or just plain glitter. Generally shimmers and sparkles will look much nicer than larger pieces of glitter. Dont get carried away as less is more!
Following the above tips can achieve a luminous and healthy glow on your special day!
A tan looks great in your wedding photos but too darker tan can be a nightmare for the photographer when trying to make your skin tones look natural. Instead opt for a light or medium tan (you can be advised which one is best for you). This will look far more natural with less obvious fading during your honeymoon. This will also be much easier to exfoliate away when fading starts if you dont intend to continue self tanning during your honeymoon.
